“Legal aspects of doing business in USA and Argentina, the importance of the Labor and Migratory Law”
During four days, from the 11 to the 14 of June, the Dialogue organiced a series of very important activities with Dr Salomon Chiquiar-Rabinovich as the main speaker.
Dr Chiquiar-Rabinovich is the President of the New England-Latin America Business Council. NELABC`s mission is to promote and facilitate the development of business, inter-regional trade and investment opportunities between New England and Latin America.
He is also an associate lawyer of Seyfarth Shaw LLP, one of the most important firms in labor and migratory law in the United States. Their clients include more than 200 companies of the Fortunes 500, institutions, newspapers, hotels, organizations of health care, airlines and railroads. The company also represents an important amount of federal, state and local governmental and educative organizations.
Finally, Salomon is the Deputy President of the Hispanic National Bar Association (Region I- New England).
From his previous responsibilities, we must emphasizes his position as Assistant Secretary of State, in charge of the Bureau of International Exchange and Technical Cooperation, of Puerto Rico, and his protagonism in the foundation of the Puerto Rico-Israel Chamber of Commerce, and as a board member of the Association of America-Israel Chambers of Commerce.
The activities was developed in the Publishing house "La Ley", the American Club, the Institute of Labor Law of the Bar Association of the City of Buenos Aires, the DAIA (Delegation of Argentine Jewish Associations) and the University of Bologna (with the Association of Specialists in labor relations "the former scholarship from the University of Bologna, the International Formation Center of the International Labour Organization in Turin and the University of Castilla la Mancha" (Argentina Section)). All had the participation of academics, officers and lawyers with specialization in labor, businesses and migratory law.
In most of the meetings Dr Chiquiar-Rabinovich was accompanied by Dr Eduardo Viñales. Dr Viñales is Senior Partner of Funes de Rioja, one of most important firm of Argentina in labor subjects. He is also advisor to the Food Businessmen Chamber, Representative at the resolution of labor disputes, member of the Social Policy Department at the Argentinean Business Union, and Representative for the Argentinean business sector in the 10th. and 11th. Mercosur’s Working Teams.
Both firms, Seyfarth Shaw LLP and Funes de Rioja, are members of Ius Laboris, an international alliance of leading law firms providing specialised services in employment and labour law, pensions and employee benefits, covering all legal services related to HR.
