"United States, International Security and Nuclear non proliferation"

In the afternoon of the 16 of October we had the luck and the honor of being able to count with the presence of the ambassador Greg Schulte.

Ambassador Schulte serves as the Permanent Representative of the United States to the United Nations Office in Vienna, the International Atomic Energy Agency, and other international organizations in Vienna. Having arrived on July 13, 2005, Ambassador Schulte is charged with advancing the President’s agenda in countering proliferation, terrorism, organized crime, and corruption, while promoting the peaceful use of nuclear energy.

Prior to his current position, Mr. Schulte served as Executive Secretary of the National Security Council of the White House (2003-2005) and, previously, and before that, and between many important positions, he worked at the Pentagon and NATO, and as Special Assistant of President Clinton for Implementation of the Dayton Peace Accords on the NSC.

During the meeting, Ambassador Schulte expressed appreciation for Argentina's responsible and peaceful management of its nuclear materials and technology, its transparent coordination with neighboring countries in safeguarding nuclear facilities and materials, and its responsible and important role in the multilateral arena in working to prevent the spread of nuclear weapons.

He also made reference to the nuclear programs of Iran, North Korea and Syria, and he spent some minutes speaking about the nuclear agreement between his country and India.
