"Civil Military Relations in a Democracy"

Two encounter were organized by the Dialogue to develop thematics of importance in every democracy, as they are those tie to the relation between civilians and the military. For that, we will count with the presence of Dr. Thomas Bruneau and the Dr. Richard B. Goetze, Major General (Ret.) of the USAF.

Thomas Bruneau is a Professor in the Department of National Security Affairs, Naval Postgraduate School, Monterrey, California and Regional Director for Latin America of the Center for Civil–Military Relations (CCMR) in the same city. Of the CCMR he also was his Director between December of 2000 and November of 2004.

On the other hand, Dr. Richard B. Goetze served as the Vice Director of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, President of the College of Aeronautics in New York City and now is the Deputy Program Manager for Latin America of the CCMR.

Veteran of Vietnam, Dr. Goetze is an authority in civic-military issues, decision making in national security, strategic nuclear war, security in Latin America and Institutional Strategic Leadership.

The meeting had the attendance of members of the Argentine Armed Forces, academics, investigators, members of the juridical power, advisors and businessman.
