"Key Components of an energy security policy in emerging countries"

Along with an important presence of specialists and oficers in environmental and the energy issues, the Foundation organized two activities in which spoke Dr. Daniel Kammen, Adviser of the Obama Administration in climate change.

Daniel M. Kammen is Professor of Energy at the University of California, Berkeley, where he holds appointments in the Energy and Resources Group, the Goldman School of Public Policy, and the department of Nuclear Engineering. He is also the founding director of the Renewable and Appropriate Energy Laboratory (RAEL), the Co-Director of the Berkeley Institute of the Environment, a coordinating lead author for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007 and a Permanent Fellow of the African Academy of Sciences.

He was the first Clean Energy Fellow with the Energy and Climate Partnership of the Americas (ECPA) to arrive in the region. The ECPA initiative is bringing together Western Hemisphere nations to share and find scientific, technical, and policy avenues to produce and use energy, and cooperate on climate change. The first encounter was carried out at the American Club, in coordination with TESA Foundation, whereas the second took place at the Argentine Council for Internacional Relations (CARI), in a joint meeting of the Committees of Environment and Energy of that institution.
