"Abraham Lincoln in 2011: his legacy today"
Again with a nourished presence of guests of our foundation, and winners of different scholarships from the Fulbright Commission, the 16 of March of 2011 we had the chance to participate in a video-conference in which spoke Dr. Ronald White.
Dr. White has a Doctorate in Princeton University and is professor of the UCLA, Princeton Theological Seminary, Whitworth University, and Colorado College. He is scholarship holder of the Huntington Library as well, where he is writing a book on Ulysses Grant.
Dr. White has lectured at the White House and was interviewed on the News Hour with Jim Lehrer. His lectures at the Library of Congress (March 16, 2002), at the Lincoln Forum at Gettysburg (November 17, 2002), and at the dedication of the Lincoln statue in Richmond (April 5, 2003 have been broadcast on C-Span. His Op-Ed pieces have appeared in the New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, and The Christian Science Monitor.
Related to the subject of the meeting, we must mention that Dr. White is the author of the book “A. Lincoln: A Biography” (2009), which was New York Times, Washington Post, and Los Angeles Times bestseller, and was awarded as the best book of the 2009 by the Washington Post, Christian Science Monitor, St Louis Post-Dispatch, History Book Club, and Barns & Noble.
