"Government 2.0"

From the 19 to the 23 of September our Foundation carried out a very important program supported by the Embassy of the USA in Argentina, and in charge of Lewis Shepherd, Director of the Microsoft Institute for Advanced Technology in Governments.

Lewis has degrees from Stanford University (where he was a Rockefeller Doctoral Fellow in the Political Science Department), the University of Virginia, and the Université Libre de Bruxelles (Belgium).

He spent two decades working in and around Silicon Valley, but after the 9/11 attacks he moved to Washington DC and focused on government technologies to support information sharing and reform for the Global War on Terror. Some of his team's work focused on cyber-security, better intelligence analysis, and introducing Web 2.0 capabilities to government networks. In 2007 he entered Microsoft.

Between numerous recognitions, he has received a scholarship of the Ford Foundation in international security, a scholarship of the Rockefeller Foundation, a Fulbright scholarship, and other prizes. He is coauthor of two books about USA and international relations and has published numerous articles.

With a very complete agenda, he spoke at the National Technological University (transmitted live to other 12 faculties), the National University of La Plata, the Argentina University of Bussiness, the Inter-American Open University (Rosary branch), the Argentine Council for International Relations and the IX International Congress for Informative Technological Innovation. In addition to that, he carried out meetings at the Municipality of Rosario (Santa Fe province), the Municipality of the Province of Buenos Aires, and with national authorities and from the City of Buenos Aires, tending to explore different alternatives by which Microsoft can help to the best operation of the governments in all the levels and areas.
