At the Catholic University of Argentina, the 4th of June of 2014, the Dialogue organized a conference with Professor Max Paul Friedman, from the American University.
He is a 2013-14 John Simon Guggenheim Fellow and 2014 American University Scholar/Teacher of the Year and his most recent book is Rethinking Anti-Americanism: The History of an Exceptional Concept in American Foreign Relations (Cambridge University Press, 2012).

"Justice Community Centers Program"
On the 28th of May we hold a working lunch with Alex Calabrese, New York State Acting Supreme Court Justice and Presiding Judge for the Red Hook Community Justice Center in Brooklyn, New York, and Mr. Julius Lang, Director of Technical Assistance at the Center for Court Innovation.
During it, Judge Calabrese and Mr. Lang shared the successful experience with Justice Community Centers and other Courts to reduce juvenile delinquency, increase citizen security and public trust. Several argentine Judges, Prosecutors and Lawyers participated in the activity.
"Political campaigns and midterm elections in the United States"
On May 26, 2014, this Foundation organized a meeting with Daniel DiSalvo, senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute's Center for State and Local Leadership and Professor of Political Science at The City College of New York.
Our guest centered his presentation on the American electoral system, the characteristics of the November elections and some of the most important points to take into account. National Representatives, Deans from different universities and journalist were present.

"John Fitzgerald Kennedy in history and memory"
Last May 20th we organized, along with CARI and the Embassy of the United States a presentation of Dr. Michael Flamm, professor of History of the United States at the Ohio Wesleyan University.
In this opportunity, he spoke about JFK and the impact of his figure in the development of the U.S. Many Ambassadors and other people were present.

"School Climate and Violence ("Bullying")"
With an interesting participation from the public, on April 24, 2014, the Dialogue held at the campus of the Universidad Católica Argentina an activity on school violence through the participation of Richard Cardillo, educational director of the National School Climate Center (NSCC).
Several argentine specialists, teachers, professors, NGO representatives and journalists, among others, gathered to participate in a lively exchange of experiences and discussion about possible strategies to address this problem that affects our societies so badly.

"American political outlook from a Latino perspective"
On February 20th of 2014 the Dialogue organized a lunch with Councilman Fabian Bedne. An argentine that moved to the USA in the 90s, he become the first Latino councilman of the city of Nashville, the capital of the U.S. state of Tennessee.
It was a very dynamic and interesting meeting, that counted with the presence of several argentine councilmen and representatives of different sectors.

Presentations on U.S. and Latin America in Vilnius, Lithuania
Invited by several universities, our Executive Director Eduardo Diez, held in Lithuania a series of presentations about the foreign policy of the USA, and its relationship with Latin America.
Occupying the presidency of the EU during the second half of 2013, the lithuanian interest in other regions focused in this case on the evolution of the relationship between different american countries and between them and the United States.

The U.S. Constitution requires that the president report to Congress "from time to time" on the "State of the Union." This constitutional requirement has evolved into the president's annual State of the Union address, which now serves several purposes. The speech reports on the condition of the United States both domestically and internationally, recommends a legislative agenda for the coming year and gives the president the opportunity to convey personally his vision for the nation.

During the first encounters we had the presentations from the Undersecretary from President Cristina Fernandez, Dr. Gustavo López, former Minister of Justice from President Néstor Kirchner, Dr. Alberto Iribarne, Minister of Labor Carlos Tomada and presidential candidates Ricardo Alfonsín, Eduardo Duhalde, Elisa Carrió, Hermes Binner and Alberto Rodriguez Saa, between other personalities.

Tucumán Congress
Congress that reunited the representatives of the United Provinces of the Silver River in the present Argentine city of San Miguel de Tucumán. In the session of the 9 of July of 1816, presided by Francisco N. Laprida, it declared independence from the Spanish colonial power ("and from all other foreign domination").

The 2 of July of 1776, the Congress voted the national independence and the 4 of July approved the Declaration of Independence. Also it ordered to George Washington the recruitment of an army, approved the emission of paper money and created local governments.
