"The impact of the Latin electorate in the presidential campaign of 2008"

The cycle of videoconferences on the elections in the United States had its second chapter last Wednesday 6th of August.

In this occasion it was focused in the possible influence of the Hispanics, that already constitutes the first minority in the United States.

"Case Law and Judicial Efficacy"

On July 3rd and 4th the Dialogue, and the Embassy of the United States of America, hosted, in the context of the seventh year of the Embassy´s Program “Justice Undergoing Change” a two day speaker program on the topic “Case Law and Judicial Efficacy” with the presentation of US Speaker Hon. Bohdan A. Futey, Judge of the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.

One of the things that made special the visit of the Honourable Futey is that during his youth he lived several years in Buenos Aires, concurring to a state school in Avellaneda. It was therefore an opportunity to share experiences with a person that fulfilled a double American dream, first in Argentina and later in the United States.

"USA and Latin American, Today and Tomorrow"

Last Monday 26 of May a lunch organized by the Foundation took place at the American Club, in which exposed the recognized Dr. Norman Bailey, adviser of the Undersecretary of State of the United States, Mr. John Negroponte, in issues related to Latin America .

Having worked with presidents Reagan and the both Bush, he offered a complete picture on the national and international political actuality of the United States; as also of the main presidential candidates.

"US Elections"

Jointly with the American Embassy, our Foundation invited to a videoconference that was developed Wednesday 21 of May in the American representation.

In the activity spoke Dr. Jenny K. Lincoln, who analyzed the probable impact of the next elections in the foreign policy of the United States.

"The Globalization and its impact in the society, government and companies"

Last 28 of April, the President of Global Managment Associates, Dr. Harry Harris, headed a meeting organized by the Dialogue.

The encounter was attended by businessmen, academic and politicians, who fomented an attractive interchange of opinions and experiences.

"Management of public policies and NGO's"

April 9, Peter Shiras was the main spaker of a lunch organized between the Dialogue and the American Embassy.

Peter is the vice president - employment at the International Youth Foundation (IYF), and former senior vice president of programmes at Independent Sector (IS).

"Multiculturalism"

With the North American Embassy, last 6th of March, the Foundation cosupported an exposión relative to the multicultural characteristics of the American society.

The activity was in charge of Dr Mitchell F. Rice, Director of the Institute of Racial and Ethnic Studies, and Professor of Political Science in the University from Texas To & M.

Our Executive Director returned from a scholarship of six weeks in the United States

Eduardo Diez was chosen by the Department of State, and the Fulbright Commission, to attend a course of six weeks on "Foreign policy of the United States".
The seminary was developed from the 9 of June during four weeks in the University of Florida (Gainesville), and after that were other two weeks distributed between Miami, Chicago and Washington D.C.

Bush Delivers State of Union Address 2008

The U.S. Constitution requires that the president report to Congress "from time to time" on the "State of the Union." This constitutional requirement has evolved into the president's annual State of the Union address, which now serves several purposes. The speech reports on the condition of the United States both domestically and internationally, recommends a legislative agenda for the coming year and gives the president the opportunity to convey personally his vision for the nation.

Tucumán Congress

Congress that reunited the representatives of the United Provinces of the Silver River in the present Argentine city of San Miguel de Tucumán. In the session of the 9 of July of 1816, presided by Francisco N. Laprida, it declared independence from the Spanish colonial power ("and from all other foreign domination").

Signature of the Declaration of Independence.

The 2 of July of 1776, the Congress voted the national independence and the 4 of July approved the Declaration of Independence. Also it ordered to George Washington the recruitment of an army, approved the emission of paper money and created local governments.
